Dungeons and Dragons took place in the basement of the Alexandra Centre tonight. Of course that was after a lusty rendition of our RIO theme song - RIO Rules The World. Only two more meetings after tonight. One with a guest speaker, and one with roasted hotdogs and more Dungeons and Dragons. The kids took on killer skeletons and quite a number of dire rats. They found gems, fell in traps (Olive), kicked down doors (Jessica), showed an amazing lack of co-ordination (Nicole), and finally found the key to the dragon door. What lies behind? We'll find out next time, only a month to wait.

The RIO kids with the help of Mary Jean Uszy wrote their RIO theme song at last Monday's meeting. Mary Jean was amazed how fast the kids could come up with a song. Well, RIO kids are just that good! The song turned out to be a heavy metal piece. We will be recording it very soon and posting it to our website. Stay tuned to rock out!
Two new writing contests have been posted. Actually one is a writing contest that is open to anyone and one is a video contest - but close enough. There are also lots of deadlines coming up in May, everything from poetry, to videos, to posters, to sci-fi. Check them out and win some money.
