A Summer of Baguettes
Baguette by the Rogue Poets
I miss our picnics at the amusement park
But I love you at dinner in my Paris apartment
Where I hold you in my arms
And squeeze you
Run my fingers over the divots in your otherwise smooth body
That make you unique
Your fragrance seduces me
So soft and warm
So very comforting
I used to sneak you into my room when mom wasn’t looking
Meet you at lunch in the school cafe
Sometimes you would catch my eye in the bakery
So fresh
So lovely
The warm smell of your hot body
I couldn’t wait to taste you
Always delicious
But best when slathered in butter
Or dipped in some jam
Crisp
Fresh out of the oven
Delicious
Fluffy
Soft
Crunchy
Golden
Shiny
My mind is being blown by the sheer purity of the
BAGUETTE
Baguette I love you
Only the freshest of baguette for me
Sweet and salty baguette
You smell like heaven baguette
Spread with creamy butter, you are the only baguette for me.

How to write over the Summer
by the Novelmancers
- Padlock your room (on the inside – bring food and caffeine).
- Take it slow. Try to write every day even if it’s only five words. It’s five more words than the day before.
- If can’t think of anything to write try editing or working on another project. That way you’re at least doing something.
- Try journaling or writing in a book so that you aren’t chained to your laptop.
- Chain yourself laptop. Bring it into the bathtub for extra thrills.
- Pick a time of day to be your writing time. If you don’t get anything done in that time, that’s okay. But there’s a good chance you will. Set three alarms so you actually do it.
- Listen to music to set the mood. Also create a writing play list for later writing.
- If you are super busy, think about what you’re going to write so it’s planned out. That way you’re ready to write when you have the time.
- Segregate yourself from humanity.
- Draw pictures of your characters to help set your characters.
- Take a break if the words aren’t coming. Be gentle with yourself.
- Read a lot of books, comics, and poetry. See movies and plays. Read really old stuff. Read really odd stuff. Experience writing.
- If you can’t work without a deadline, get a friend to give you a deadline on a section and if you don’t complete it in time, you have to buy them food – or if you do finish, they have to buy you food.
- Prove the world wrong – get the novel finished.
- If you need to write about food, the write about food. But if you don’t need to write about food and you are – go for lunch.
- Go on the interwebs for writing prompts.
- Plan your novel – write an outline. But don’t over plan (give yourself some mystery).
- Go to writing camp. May we suggest WordsWorth?
