Follow the Dragon
You follow the dragon and it leads you to… ALEX!
You run up to your friend. "Alex! There you are! What the heck is going on? Do you know who did this?"
Alex looks at you, sad and frustrated.
“what’s wrong?” you ask.
“what’s wrong… WHATS WRONG?"Alex rants. "People like you are what's wrong." They wave their arm at all the mulling sculptures, art, and crafts, even as more art pours out of Atelier Artista chased by the studio owner, Bunny, begging them to come back.
Alex continues, "These pieces of art just sit around all day and nobody cares!"
"He seems to." You say pointing at Bunny, now sobbing on his knees, asking how he offended a painting of a beautiful bowl of fruit.
"You don't though!" Alex turns their face to the ceiling. "I've been practicing magic for years and you never thought it was cool."
"Sure I did," you say. "I asked if you wanted to do magic at my nephew's third birthday."
Alex's eyes narrow and they glare at you. "That's not the kind of magic I do. My magic is much more powerful! You KNOW THAT. And when I help this poor trapped art escape for one night. ONE NIGHT! You don’t even care…”
"I do, Alex! But they’re just art. Art doesn’t matter."
“Just art? JUST ART???" Alex leans towards you, their magic flickering blue-electric over their skin in a crackling orb of power. "Maybe you deserve to be JUST ART!”
Alex waves their wand and you become dizzy, the weight of your head becomes too much and you fall over to the ground. Fainted.
You wake up, the world coming into focus around you, and you… can’t move? In fact, you can’t move anything, your eyes, your head, your body. Nothing seems to be working.
“Now what do you think?” Alex growls. You hear Alex's voice in your head but can't respond. “What do you think of being… JUST ART! Mwahahahahah!”
You watch Alex walk away, even as you continue to struggle and you finally realize what has happened.
You are a PIECE OF ART, forever to be trapped.
